Project sheds new light on the culture of ancient Egypt
In the recently concluded project EgFem: Egyptology, feminist theory and alternative worlds, postdoctoral researcher Reinert Skumsnes explores the potential for dialogue between present feminist theories about the body, sex and gender, and ancient Egyptian concepts, experiences and practices.

Prize awarded to thesis on queer people from minority backgrounds
The prize for the best MA thesis with a gender perspective submitted to the University of Oslo in 2023 has gone to one of STK’s own students, Miki Gebrelul.

New sustainability course at STK
Are you interested in the connections between sustainability and gender? In the Spring semester, you will be able to take a new course: KFL2055 Gender, Race, Class and Sustainability. The course is part of the University of Oslo’s Sustainability Certificate.
The STK award
Each year, the Centre for Gender Research gives out an award for the best MA thesis with a gender perspective submitted to the University of Oslo.
